Bycoket style eye-patch cap made from leather offcuts.
Long before Margarete's arrest, her family was marked by suspicion. In 1562, her mother-in-law, Anna Faust, was tortured into "confessing" to absurd acts:
‘She hexed the milk of the cows of Greta Russel of Lindheim. She spoiled the milk of cows of Kunz Decker of Dudelsheim and was said to have caused Kunz to develop a sudden hernia’
Margarete Faust, like her mother in-law, was specifically targeted and accused of witchcraft because of her missing eye which she lost in an accident.
In 1597 Margaret hung herself in the Witches Tower in the Budingen castle.
