NOT MY CIRCUS

This a collection for anyone disillusioned by the landscape of ideological clutter, of corporate messaging and media noise, who might find respite in the classic Polish shrug—“Nie mój cyrk, nie moje małpy", "Not my circus, not my monkeys". It serves as a satirical reminder of our collective impulse to perform, produce and smack cymbals together rhythmically, until the clock strikes 6 PM.

I encourage us to find beauty beyond these demands. This collection is in conversation with the work of Roland Barthes and the 'dialogic' approach of Valentin Voloshinov - to demystify language and signs as neutral or devoid of power-relations.  With humour as our most accessible form of rebellion, I also include the provocative handbag series Les Sacs Sémiotiques in this collection.
